Do you take commissions?I do indeed! I offer custom commissions outside of event season, typically from Mid October to March. During this time, I dedicate my focus to creating unique pieces tailored specifically to your requests. It's important to note that for any orders intended to arrive by Christmas, they must be placed by November 5th to allow ample time for production and delivery. This deadline ensures that I can give each commission the attention it deserves while ensuring timely delivery for the holiday season. Don't miss out on the opportunity to have a special, personalized creation in time for Christmas—be sure to place your order by November 5th.

The product I like isn't on your site anymore. When will you make more?I understand your disappointment that the product you like is currently not available on my website. As a solo creator, I handle all aspects of my business, including product creation, photography, video editing, shop management, social media, and maintaining my portfolio site. With a long list of crafts I'd like to make, I strive to balance the variety of products while ensuring the quality and attention to detail that each one deserves. While I will always try to revisit and offer the classics, they now make up a smaller percentage of my craft compared to before. If the specific item you're looking for is not currently available in the shop, there's a possibility it may be featured in a future shop drop, whether it's the next one or the one after that. To stay informed and be the first to know about new releases and updates, join my mailing list. This way, you won't miss out on any future opportunities to grab the craft you desire. Thank you for your understanding and support of my creative journey.

Do you use Faux/vegan leather?Currently, I do not utilize plant or vegan leather in my products. The leather materials I use consist of a combination of cow, deer, and pig leathers. While I do offer an eco range that incorporates recycled leather, including chrome-tanned leathers, I generally hold reservations towards plant-based or plastic-based alternatives. I have yet to come across a faux leather option that matches the same level of durability as genuine leather or possesses an eco footprint that aligns with my personal comfort level. I prioritize creating products that are built to last and maintain their quality over time. However, I am continually exploring and researching alternative materials that may offer a more sustainable solution without compromising on durability. Thank you for understanding my approach and for your interest in my products. I may do some limited runs of faux leather products, like my journals, in future.

Have you heard about cactus/mycelium/pineapple/plant leather? Please refrain from sharing articles or links about plant-based leather alternatives unless you have thoroughly researched their exact composition. It's important to note that any material utilizing loose plant fibers requires a binder and additional substances to achieve a smooth and shiny surface. I have found that most of the options shared with me contain 10% to 30%, of plastic content. However, I share your enthusiasm for Reishi, which shows great promise as one of the first plastic-free leather alternatives. Although it's still in its early stages and not accessible to me, I'm eagerly awaiting the day when it becomes more widely available.

Is this your full time job?I quit my job in 2020 and started working in leathercraft full-time. Sounds great, right? But starting a business completely off my own back with no savings was, to put it lightly, a challenge. Like many, I initially tried to be formal and professional but made a lot of mistakes along the way. I severely underpriced my work (sometimes charging less than the cost of materials!) and overestimated how much labor-intensive, repetitive work I could physically and mentally handle. In 2022, I took a break for maternity, followed by a tonne of health issues and prolonged hospital stays, and after over a year and a half out, I relaunched as The Trembly Emporium. I’m now scaling up to make it a sustainable full-time business. Right now, I’m working way more than full-time hours to make this dream a reality, while also navigating personal challenges like living with AuDHD, physical disabilities, and adjusting to life as a parent. I’m in the process of reworking my business to better support my needs and planning for big steps, like getting my own dedicated workshop. None of this would be possible without my incredible partner, who comes to events, helps to lug around inventory, maintains our 3d printers and laser, and is truly my rock. Every sale goes straight back into Trembly, and I’m excited to have all these changes in place in 2025. Thank you for being part of this journey!

Can I copy your work?Of course you can! As long as you aren't going to sell it. I'm more than happy for people to use my work to inspire their own projects for personal use. I even make DIY kits so you can make your own versions of my work with less hassle! If you post them on social media though, please do tag trembly emporium as inspiration.

You should do tutorials!I knooooooooooow. Tutorials are one thing I'm asked about again and again, and I would love to create a channel similar to Nerdforge or SkillTree, but my workshop is just a room at home, and it's a little on the small size when it comes to film work. when I get a proper, dedicated workshop, then making youtube/insta tutorials will be something I can look at doing. But for now, the best I'm able to offer is short build videos on TikTok.

Why do you give everything you make a human name? It's weird. The truthful answer is: I'm autistic and I have to name anything that has eyes or appears remotely human/animal like. Yes, I'm weird. I'm pretty proud of my weirdness and eccentricities (And hey, if I wasn't weird I wouldn't be able to make all this cool stuff!). Plus, I've never sold a named item at an event that hasn't caused the buyer to crack a massive smile when they notice their item comes with a little certificate and their own name. It's pretty great, honestly.
